Our Coaches

Our coaches at the San Luis Valley Youth Hockey Association (SLVYHA) are dedicated volunteers appointed by the Board and bring a wealth of expertise and passion to the ice. They demonstrate strong skills in skating, hockey knowledge, teaching techniques, and strategic gameplay, ensuring that each player develops a well-rounded understanding of the sport. SLVYHA coaches are committed to fostering player involvement, creating an environment where players feel engaged, motivated, and supported. Effective communicators, they are skilled in breaking down techniques and strategies to suit different age and skill levels. Each coach has completed the USA Hockey Coaching Education Program and passed a background check, upholding the highest standards of safety and integrity.
